Cholestyramine (Questran) binds liothyronine and other thyroid in hormones in the intestine, reducing the absorption and levels of liothyronine. Thyroid hormones should not be administered for 4 to 5 hours after administering cholestyramine. Liothyronine is also used together with surgery and radioactive iodine therapy in people with thyroid cancer.
- If you are prescribed to take Cytomel more than once daily, subsequent doses should be taken on an empty stomach as well if possible.

Using this medicine with any of the following medicines may cause an increased risk of certain side effects, but using both drugs may be the best treatment for you. Precautions for Cytomel
Both hormones are stored in the thyroid colloid as thyroglobulin. Levothyroxine contains T4 (thyroxine), which is converted in the body to more biologically active, T3. For most individuals, taking levothyroxine (T4) will sufficiently treat hypothyroidism but a small percentage of individuals don’t efficiently convert T4 to T3. For these individuals, a mixed T4/T3 product may be preferred. If symptoms occur, they usually occur because there are toxic (too high) levels of thyroid hormone (hyperthyroidism). Your doctor may adjust your dose as needed, likely not exceeding 75 mcg once a day.

Warfarin acts by reducing the concentration of factors in the body that are necessary for blood to clot.
